Botany Bay is a secluded bay with breath-taking chalk features.
About Botany Bay Beach
The sandy beach is great for families with plenty for children to explore. It's said the beach got its name from when smugglers were deported to Botany Bay in Australia.
Botany Bay was reported as the “most photographed beach in the UK” in 2024.
At low tide, you can access a more secluded part of the beach past the iconic chalk stacks to the east. Keep an eye on tide times, there is no other way back through!
As you descend onto Botany Bay Beach, everyone heads right; to the chalk columns. For a less crowded experience, try heading left and enjoy a large expanse of sand with chalk cliffs.
Dogs are not allowed on the beach between 10am and 6pm from 1 May to 30 September.
